Discussion Papers

The Victorian Government established the dedicated Office of Climate Change within the Department of Premier and Cabinet in 2007. The Office is leading climate change policy across the Victorian Government and with other Australian and international governments.

The Office of Climate Change has prepared a number of papers with the most up to date information and analysis of the likely impact of climate change on Victoria.

This study by George Wilkenfeld and Associates involves an analysis of Victoria's greenhouse gas emissions in 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005. The analysis allocates greenhouse gas emissions to detailed energy uses in the residential sector, and also analyses commercial/services, manufacturing and transport sector emissions. The report also compares Victoria's emissions with national averages and with other States and Territories.

The study includes an estimate of emissions from projected energy use in Victoria's residential sector from 2005 to 2020.
